1. The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes that the permanent Constitution of Iraq has been 
adopted through a democratic referendum for the first time in the history of Iraq on October 15, and we note 
that it will mark a significant step in the process of establishing democratic and peaceful Iraq.

2. Our government hopes that the remaining plans for the political process of Iraq, such as the upcoming 
general election based on the permanent Constitution on December 15, and the establishment of a lawfully-
elected government, will be carried out successfully with active participation by all of the Iraqi people.  We 
will continue to support efforts by the Iraqi people for peace and reconstruction of Iraq.
