1. The Government of the Republic of Korea will dispatch one Korean government official for the Electoral 
Observation Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) to the local elections of the Republic of 
Peru to be conducted on November 17, 2002.

 
2. The dispatching of Electoral Observation Mission to the local elections in Peru is a part of the ROK 
government’s efforts to strengthen relations with OAS as an OAS Observer by contributing to the OAS’s main 
activities, and at the same time, take part in the international endeavor to spread democracy as the hosting 
country of the 2nd Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (November 11-12, 2002).

 
3. The ROK government has been actively participating in the OAS’s activities to strengthen democracy and 
promote peace in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
