1. On October 26, Minister Ban Ki-moon will hold the Korea-Rwanda Foreign Ministers' Talks with Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, Charles Murigande, who is scheduled to pay an
official visit to Korea from October 24 to 28. The two ministers will take this opportunity to discuss the
situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Africa, as well as ways to enhance economic cooperation with
Rwanda and bilateral cooperation in the international arena. They also plan to sign the Economic, Scientific
and Technological Cooperation Agreement and the Agreement on Korea Overseas Volunteers Program.
2. Rwanda is hoping to strengthen bilateral economic cooperations and benchmark the ROK for its
economic reconstruction efforts. Rwanda also has the most potential for future developments in Africa with
its active economic and social reconstruction efforts. Thus, our government plans to further strengthen
mutually beneficial cooperations with Rwanda and pass on our experiences in economic development.
3. Minister Murigande's itinerary in Korea also includes the following: courtesy call on Prime Minister;
meeting with KOICA President; meeting with President of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; special
lecture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; visit to industrial sites and research-development
organizations.
