1. The Republic of Korea and Mongolia held their ninth consultation on consular affairs in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on April 24. The consultation was chaired by Ambassador for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Han Dong-man and his Mongolian counterpart Ariunbold.
2. In the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of implementation of the ROK-Mongolia agreement on simplifying visa procedures, and agreed to work together to improve the convenience of their nationals entering and leaving or staying in each other’s countries in order to expand people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The two sides also agreed to work together to protect the safety and rights of their nationals staying in each other’s countries, and establish cooperative consular relations between the two countries in the mid- to long-term.
3. The two sides agreed to hold the next consultation in Seoul at an appropriate time, taking into account their schedules and situations.
