1. The journalists from the Republic of Korea, China and Japan, who are participating in the second round of the exchange program for journalists from the three countries held by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), will visit the ROK Foreign Ministry on April 23. At the Ministry, the journalists will make a courtesy call on Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Kim Hong-kyun, who serves as chairman of the Trilateral Senior Foreign Officials' Consultation, and be briefed on the ROK government’s Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative by Director-General for Policy Planning Shin Beom-chul.
◦ The journalists will also attend the dinner to be hosted by Director-General for Northeast Asian Affairs Lee Sang-deok on April 22.
2. This year’s event, the second of its kind, is conducted by the TCS to offer journalists of the three countries opportunities to engage in exchanges and better understand one another. Going forward, it is expected to help form public opinion favorable for enhancing trust and friendship among the three countries.
