1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had telephone conversations with Secretary of State of the United States Mike Pompeo on both October 21 and 22 and discussed bilateral issues as well as cooperation on global affairs.

° The Minister and the Secretary also discussed the selection of the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

2. In addition, Minister Kang plans to visit the U.S. in the near future at the invitation of Secretary Pompeo and hold a meeting with him, continuing strategic communication on Korean Peninsula, regional and global issues.
