1. The government of the Republic of Korea expresses deep concern and regret over the fact that former Prime Minister of Japan Abe Shinzo paid respects at the Yasukuni Shrine, a symbolic establishment which glorifies Japan’s history of colonial rule and war of aggression, immediately after his resignation.
2. The ROK government once again sternly points out that, when leaders of Japan face history squarely and demonstrate their humble reflection and sincere remorse over past history through action, Japan’s neighboring countries and the international community will trust the country.
