Special Presidential Envoy Attends Inauguration Ceremony of New Uruguayan President

1. Mr. Park Myungkwang, Chairman of the Board of Global Civic Sharing, attended the inauguration ceremony of new President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle, held in Montevideo at 14:00, March 1, local time, as special envoy of President Moon Jae-in.


° The inauguration ceremony brought together about 100 people, including top-level officials, such as the King of the Kingdom of Spain as well as the Presidents of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Colombia and the Republic of Chile, and other high-level delegates.


2. Special envoy Park Myungkwang relayed special words of congratulations from President Moon Jae-in to President Lacalle and handed President Moon’s letter, in which he expressed hope to further expand and advance friendly and cooperative relations as well as substantive cooperation in various areas between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Uruguay.


3. President Lacalle, extending appreciation to the ROK’s special delegation for attending his inauguration ceremony, mentioned that he will do his utmost to deepen and develop the bilateral relations in diverse areas during his tenure.


4. On February 29, special envoy Park had a meeting with Korean residents and representatives of Korean companies in Uruguay, during which he offered encouragement to the Korean residents and entrepreneurs who are promoting Korean culture and carrying out various activities in the country, and listened to their interests and challenges.
