1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha met with Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to the United Nations on the morning of September 25, 2019.

2. Minister Kang commended the WFP, which has expertise in the field of food security, for its active responses to global humanitarian crises. The two sides agreed to further strengthen joint efforts to support vulnerable groups, including women, children and refugees, around the world to meet their urgent needs.

3. Further, the two sides discussed global efforts to achieve “Zero Hunger,” the WFP’s food assistance to refugees and the progress in humanitarian assistance for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
