1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, had a luncheon meeting on December 19 with Amb. Kent Härstedt, Special Envoy to the Korean Peninsula of the Kingdom of Sweden, who is accompanying Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven on his official visit to the Republic of Korea (Dec. 18-20).

2. The two sides exchanged views on the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula, and agreed to continue bilateral cooperation and communication for an early resumption of dialogue between the U.S. and the DPRK following the working-level negotiations held in Stockholm in October (Oct. 4-5), and for substantive progress in achieving complete denuclearization and establishing lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
