1. Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on August 14. Over the phone, Minister Kang explained the outcome of the high-level inter-Korean talks held on August 13 and exchanged views with the Secretary on recent developments in the inter-Korean relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

2. Secretary Pompeo extended appreciation to Minister Kang for her explanation. The Minister and the Secretary agreed to coordinate closely with each other to achieve the denuclearization and a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
