Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17.

In the forthcoming meeting, the two Foreign Ministers will discuss ways to advance Korea-Qatar relations as well as to promote substantive cooperation in such areas as liquefied natural gas (LNG), construction and infrastructure, and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

On the afternoon of tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17, Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will attend the special academic conference to be hosted by the Korean Association of International Studies to mark the 100th day of the inauguration of the new government, and deliver congratulatory remarks on “ways forward for diplomacy of a global pivotal state.”

In his congratulatory remarks, Foreign Minister Park will review the key diplomatic achievements made over the past 100 days and present a foreign policy direction for the future.
