1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken on Tuesday afternoon, October 5 (local time), on the occasion of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations between Korea and the U.S., and Korean Peninsula issues.
o The meeting was attended by Director-General for North American Affairs Yunju KO, and Director-General for Korean Peninsula Peace Regime Kapsoo RIM from our side.
2. They shared views on the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula, as well as ways to stably manage the situation and resume dialogues with the DPRK.
3. Foreign Minister Chung explained an end-of-war declaration as a meaningful confidence building measure to engage the DPRK, and the two ministers agreed to continue to closely communicate with each other.
