1. On February 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong had a telephone conversation with Mr. Dominic Raab, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, on the occasion of his inauguration and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including the bilateral relations between Korea and the UK, the Group of Seven (G7) Summit, response to climate change, and situations on the Korean Peninsula and in other regions.

2. The Foreign Minister and the Foreign Secretary took note that Korea and the UK have continued top and high-level exchanges despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and agreed to carry out exchanges and cooperation more actively on such occasions as the G7 Summit and the 2nd Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit this year as well.

° Foreign Minister Chung particularly extended appreciation to the UK, the G7 president for this year, for inviting Korea to the 2021 G7 Summit and expressed the will to contribute actively to moving the G7 discussions forward and resolving global issues.

3. The Foreign Minister and the Foreign Secretary, noting that the two countries have been working closely together in such areas as response to climate change and COVID-19, agreed to continue collaboration in addressing challenges of the international community.
