Foreign Ministry Recruiting UN Youth Volunteers for 2017

1. The Foreign Ministry will dispatch 15 Youth Volunteers to work in various fields, including those concerning development, children, women and environment, across the world, under the UN Volunteer (UNV) programme.

○ The UN Youth Volunteers will be recruited in the second half of the year 2016 and work for international organizations for one year starting from the first half of the year 2017.

○ The Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the UNV, is implementing the Youth Volunteer Program in order to offer young nationals of the Republic of Korea opportunities to have experience of undertaking volunteer work overseas and to support their bids to seek employment at international organizations.

2. Any ROK national, who is aged between 22 and 29 and has a bachelor’s degree and relevant experiences, is eligible to apply. The application deadline is October 16.

3. The Foreign Ministry expects that the UN Volunteer programme will be a valuable opportunity for young talent of the ROK, who are interested in the work of such international organizations as the UN and its affiliates, to work at such organizations.
