1. The Foreign Ministry is holding the 2016 Korea-V4 Young Professional Cultural Exchange Camp in Seoul and Gyeongju from July 10 till 17, bringing together 57 young professionals from the Republic of Korea and the four member countries of the Visegrad Group (V4) -- the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

2. The camp has been organized to implement measures agreed upon at the first-ever ROK-V4 summit talks held in December 2015. It is expected to contribute to efforts to boost the ROK-V4 exchanges in culture, arts and other relevant fields.

3. The camp, attended by young professionals in culture, arts and other relevant fields, such as Asian art experts, soap opera directors, K-pop performance planners and curators, is expected to not only function as an exchange event but also lead to substantive cooperation.

4. The camp participants, starting with the Foreign Ministry on July 11, will visit the Cultural Creation and Convergence Belt, the Creative Center for Convergence Culture, Samsung D’light, SMTown and Dongdaemun Design Plaza over the week to learn about the ROK’s cultural industry.

° The participants, with the support of the National Museum of Korea, the Korea Furniture Museum, Korea House and Gyeongju City, will make a tour of Korean heritage sites in Gyeongju to experience firsthand and thereby learn more about Korean culture.

5. The Foreign Ministry will increase its substantive cooperation with the V4 through more robust people-to-people exchanges and will actively support bids to spread Hallyu (Korean wave) and to expand the presence of Korean cultural contents in the V4.
