ROK and Mongolia Hold their 4th Joint Cultural Committee Meeting

1. The fourth meeting of the Republic of Korea-Mongolia joint cultural committee took place in Ulan Bator on June 28, with Director-General for Cultural Affairs Choi Young-sam of the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and State Secretary Shagdarsuren Bulga-Erdene of the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science leading their respective delegations.

2. In the meeting of the joint cultural committee, the two sides discussed specific ways to work together in various fields, including sharing with each other their experiences in cultural and creative industries; conducting joint academic studies on cultural heritage; providing joint training for sports squads of the two countries; and boosting exchanges between broadcasters and mass media outlets as well as youths and provincial governments of the two countries.

° The fourth meeting of the ROK-Mongolia joint cultural committee served as a significant opportunity to map out specific and across-the-board ways for cultural cooperation by building on the outcome of the previous rounds.

3. The two sides agreed to hold their next meeting of the joint cultural committee in Seoul in the first half of the year 2019.
