Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Last week, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) submitted at the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council a report promoting accountability for human rights violations in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

In the report, the OHCHR states that crimes against humanity continue to be committed in the DPRK, recommending the DPRK to end human rights violations.

The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the report and will take an active part in the international community’s efforts to improve the deplorable human rights situation in the DPRK.
