Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will have a meeting with the Ambassadors of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) to Korea at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 30.

In the meeting, Foreign Minister Park will explain the Korean government’s foreign policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean and exchange views with the Ambassadors on the situation on the Korean Peninsula and ways to promote cooperation between Korea and the region.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister will also ask for strong support of the region for Korea’s bid to host World Expo 2030 in Busan.

Moving on, on October 5, Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will have a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador Alexandra Hill, who will visit Korea from October 1 to 6.

In the meeting, Foreign Ministers Park and Hill will review the advances in the relations between Korea and El Salvador, which mark the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year; and discuss trade and investment, infrastructure, development cooperation and regional affairs, among others.

The two sides will also exchange views on the relations between Korea and Latin America and the Caribbean, and on ways to bolster cooperation on the international stage, including on Korea’s bid to host World Expo 2030 in Busan.

The forthcoming foreign ministerial meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen friendly ties and expand future-oriented cooperation with El Salvador, one of the major countries in Central America.
