Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin will make an official visit to Mongolia from August 28 to 30 at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Battsetseg.

Foreign Minister Park’s upcoming visit to Mongolia marks the first bilateral visit by a Korean Foreign Minister in 8 years since 2014 as well as the first visit since Korea and Mongolia upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership in 2021.

In his meeting with Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg, Foreign Minister Park will have broad and in-depth discussions on issues of mutual interest, including Korea-Mongolia relations and issues on the Korean Peninsula as well as regional and global affairs.

Foreign Minister Park will also pay courtesy calls on key Mongolian leaders, including President U.Khurelsukh, and engage in various other activities, including a luncheon meeting with Mongolian academics and experts, a meeting with Korean people and entrepreneurs in Mongolia, and a visit to Korean ODA sites in Mongolia.

Foreign Minister Park’s forthcoming visit to Mongolia is expected to contribute significantly to developing mutually-beneficial relations with Mongolia, a major country in the region which is Korea’s strategic partner and a democracy.
