First, I will read the MOFA Spokesperson’s statement on the earthquake in Afghanistan.

The government of the Republic of Korea expresses deep condolences and sympathy to the numerous victims of the earthquake that struck southeastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, June 22, and to their bereaved families.

The Korean government wishes for a prompt recovery of the affected region.

Next, the Korean government has decided to provide US$1 million in humanitarian assistance to victims of the earthquake that hit the Paktika province of Afghanistan on June 22.

With the hope that the assistance will help relieve the suffering of Afghan earthquake victims, the Korean government will continue providing humanitarian assistance to countries and people hit by natural disasters.
