Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon will deliver congratulatory remarks at the 1^st 2022 Forum of the MOFAST Club to take place at the National Assembly tomorrow, Friday, April 8.

The Forum, which will be held for the first time this year to review major issues related to science and technology diplomacy and discuss the Korean government’s measures to cope with those issues, will bring together members of the National Assembly, the government and the Advisory Committee on Science and Technology Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.

In his congratulatory remarks, Vice Minister Choi will highlight the importance of setting a strategic direction for science and technology diplomacy and express hope that the launched Forum will help strengthen integrated and multifaceted cooperation among relevant government ministries, experts and enterprises.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon will visit France from April 9 to 12 to attend the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) that will be held on Monday, April 11. 

Vice Minister Choi will meet with the BIE Secretary General to learn about the recent developments in the competition to host the World Expo 2030 and will seek support from major member states of the BIE for the bid to hold the World Expo 2030 in Busan.
