Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

During his visit to Singapore, Vice Minister Choi will meet with the Senior Minister of State and the Second Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a range of areas, including infrastructure and the digital sector. The two sides will also discuss key global affairs, including the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in Myanmar and Ukraine.

Following his visit to Singapore, Vice Minister Choi will visit Bangladesh and co-chair the 3rd Korea-Bangladesh Policy Consultation with Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen. Vice Minister Choi will also pay a courtesy call on high-level officials, including Foreign Minister A. K. Abdul Momen.

Vice Minister Choi’s upcoming visit to Singapore and Bangladesh is expected to serve as an important opportunity to review the progress in the New Southern Policy that the Korean government has been pursuing and to expand the scope of cooperation with major countries in the region.

Next, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon and Ambassador of Bulgaria to Korea Petko Draganov will sign the Arrangement on Cooperation in the Fields of Education and Culture between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30.

The Arrangement has been renewed every three years since the Agreement for Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria was concluded in 1994.
