Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun, who is on a visit to Pakistan, will attend the 11^th Korea-Pakistan policy consultation with Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Sohail Mahmood in Islamabad tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29.

In the policy consultation, the two sides will have a broad exchange of views on cooperation between the two countries, regional affairs, and cooperation on the international stage.

During his visit to Pakistan, Vice Minister Choi will also meet with other high-level government officials to exchange views on regional affairs and discuss ways to deal with them.

Particularly, Vice Minister Choi will express appreciation to the Pakistani government for working together to successfully bring Afghans designated as persons of special merit to Korea last month.

Next, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon will deliver opening remarks on Thursday morning, September 30, at the “International Conference on Hydrogen 2021” hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the upcoming Conference, participants from governments, international organizations, and research institutes will share policies for green hydrogen production and technology trends, and discuss how the international community can work together in the hydrogen energy sector.

In his opening remarks, Vice Minister Choi will stress the need to expand efforts for low-carbon energy transition to achieve carbon neutrality, and particularly propose working together to create new opportunities for international cooperation in green hydrogen.
