Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the 2020 meeting of the heads of the overseas diplomatic missions of the Republic of Korea for three days from November 30 under the theme of “opening up a bright future with the people in the post-COVID-era.” 

Minister Kang, Kyung-wha, together with 186 heads of overseas missions, will discuss innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as reinforcement of the functions of the overseas missions in line with the changed diplomatic environment due to COVID-19.

In particular, this year’s meeting, which will be held in a virtual format, is expected to serve as a good opportunity to listen to opinions of people in participatory sessions, including those on tangible economic diplomacy for the people and enhanced protection of the overseas Koreans, as well as virtual one-on-one consultations with business people.
