1. On August 11, 2025, from 13:30 to 14:00, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun met with Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Koizumi Shinjiro during the latter’s visit to Korea on the occasion of the APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting and the ROK-Japan-China Agricultural Ministers’ Meeting, and exchanged views on overall ROK-Japan relations and on ways to foster bilateral economic cooperation.

2. Minister Cho welcomed Minister Koizumi‘s visit to Korea, and stressed the need to strengthen dialogue at all levels with a view to building a more solid, mature and future-oriented relationship between the two countries.

3. Minister Koizumi expressed his agreement that the development of ROK-Japan relations should be discussed with greater interest at all levels, and hoped for more concrete discussions on bilateral cooperation in various fields.

4. The two Ministers exchanged views on economic issues of mutual concern, and emphasized the need for close dialogue on matters of common interest as well as current issues.
