1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (“MOFA”) of the Republic of Korea held the launching ceremony of the 21st group of Collegian  Supporters for Safe Overseas Travel on the afternoon of Friday, June 27.

  ㅇ The sixty university students were selected from across the country through an open recruitment process. From July to December 2025, they will carry out online and offline promotional activities to raise public awareness of overseas travel safety and share travel safety information with the public.

  2. In his congratulatory remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Yoo Byung-seok, Deputy Director-General of the Consular Affairs and Safety Bureau, emphasized that the role of the Collegian Supporters for Safe Overseas Travel is more meaningful and important than ever amid the ongoing increase in the annual number of Korean nationals traveling abroad. He encouraged the collegian supporters to carry out their activities with a strong sense of responsibility so that Korean nationals will come to have an enhanced awareness of safe overseas travel and be readily provided with travel safety information.

  3. During the ceremony, MOFA provided the supporters with guidelines for their upcoming activities, along with an overview of the government’s key policies and systems for protecting overseas Koreans.

  4. MOFA will continue to work closely with the Collegian Supporters for Safe Overseas Travel to raise public awareness of overseas travel safety and ensure their easy access to relevant information.
