1. The ROK-U.S. Roundtable on Trafficking in Persons took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 17.
2. The participants from the ROK were officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Korean National Police Agency, and the Korea Coast Guard.
3. The U.S. delegation comprised officials from the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.
4. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of raising awareness among relevant agencies, strengthening their capacity, and enhancing communication and cooperation with civil society in combating trafficking in persons. Both sides also agreed to continue close bilateral communication moving forward.
