1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul held a meeting with Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis on the morning of February 6. They discussed bilateral relations, cooperation within international organizations, and regional affairs.

2. Foreign Minister Cho noted the active high-level exchanges between the two countries last year on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties. He emphasized the importance of furthering cooperation, as Korea and Switzerland share universal values such as democracy, the rule of law and human rights. The two ministers agreed to make efforts to increase bilateral trade as well as promote cooperation in advanced technology such as quantum and bio.

3. The two ministers agreed that they will closely collaborate in the UN Security Council as both Korea and Switzerland are non-permanent members of the UNSC this year. Foreign Minister Cho appreciated Switzerland's efforts as the chair of the UNSC 1718 Committee and wished for continued close cooperation on issues such as North Korea's nuclear program and human rights. Foreign Minister Cassis reaffirmed that Switzerland will continue to support the efforts of the Korean government for North Korean denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

4. The two ministers exchanged their views on the war in Ukraine and agreed to actively participate in the international community's joint efforts for the restoration of peace in Ukraine.
