ROK Government to Provide US$180,000 in Humanitarian Aid to Marshall Islands, Nauru and Honduras in Response to COVID-19

1. The government of the Republic of Korea will provide $180,000 in humanitarian aid to people of the Marshall Islands, Nauru and Honduras, who are suffering from the spread of COVID-19.


※ ① The Marshall Islands ($100,000): More than 15,000 confirmed cases out of 53,000 total population since the outbreak in the country in August 2022 / Proclamation of a State of Health Disaster on August 12

   ② Nauru ($50,000): More than 4,600 confirmed cases out of 11,000 total population

   ③ Honduras ($30,000): Resurgence of COVID-19 in 2022 


   o The decision to offer humanitarian aid came after a comprehensive review of the requests from the governments of the three countries and their COVID-19 situations. Diagnostic kits, masks, etc. will be provided through UNICEF.


2. Based on the spirit of solidarity and cooperation, the ROK government hopes to overcome the common crisis of COVID-19 as soon as possible together with the Marshall Islands, Nauru and Honduras.
