Korea Provides COVID-19 Vaccines for Grenada, and Bosnia and Herzegovina

1. In support of the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Korea has been providing vaccines for countries in need of them, including those in Asia and Africa, since 2021. The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses Korea has shared so far stands at 6.65 million.

ㅇ In July, Korea donated 500,400 doses and 40,800 doses to Guatemala and Guyana, respectively, in addition to 85,410 Pfizer vaccine doses offered to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

ㅇ Following this, Mexico accepted a total of 804,000 doses of the Pfizer pediatric vaccine over two consecutive weeks starting from the beginning of August. During the same period, Grenada also received combined 5,850 and 6,000 doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and Bosnia and Herzegovina additional 20,400 doses of the Moderna vaccine.


2. Korea will continue to actively participate in the international efforts to expand the global vaccine coverage as well as to reinforce the global health system to better prepare the world against future disease outbreaks.
