1. Korea has been
providing COVID-19 vaccines to countries in need of them in order to contribute
to the international community's efforts to expand global vaccination coverage
and overcome the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible.
2. Following the
delivery of 40,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine to Guyana in the first week of
July, Korea offered vaccines to Guatemala and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which
departed from Incheon on July 19 and 20.
° An approximate
500,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine and 85,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine
were provided to Guatemala and Bosnia and Herzegovina respectively, and about
20,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine will be additionally provided to Bosnia and
Herzegovina as soon as relevant consultations are concluded.
3. Korea hopes to
support through this vaccine donation the two countries’ efforts to recover
from the pandemic.
