1. On April 28, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun spoke over the phone with U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley and EU European External Action Service Deputy Secretary General Enrique Mora respectively and exchanged views on Korea-Iran issues and the current situation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). 

2. Reaffirming that the Republic of Korea will actively play its role in reviving the JCPOA, Vice Minister Choi asked the negotiating parties to strive to make swift progress in the negotiations.

3. After sharing the current situation of the negotiations, Special Envoy Malley and Deputy Secretary General Mora commended the constructive role the Korean government has been playing in the one-year-long negotiation process. They expressed their expectations for the Korean government to continue close cooperation on Iran-related issues.

4. Vice Minister Choi and Deputy Secretary General Mora agreed that the ROK and the EU have continuously been strengthening cooperation in various areas including in political and economic spheres.

ㅇ In particular, Deputy Secretary General Mora commended the Korean government for providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
