Telephone Conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba

1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on April 15. They discussed the current situation in Ukraine and the Korean government’s assistance to Ukraine.
2. Foreign Minister Chung expressed serious concerns over the evidence of the killing of civilians reported by the Ukrainian government and explained the assistance the Korean government has provided to Ukraine and its plan going forward.
o Foreign Minister Chung explained that as humanitarian assistance, the Korean government has decided to provide US$30 million in addition to US$10 million in March, and is continuously exploring ways for assistance to Ukraine.
o In particular, Foreign Minister Chung explained that since the outbreak of the war, the Korean government has supported the Ukrainian people who left their home to enter and stay in Korea.
3. Foreign Minister Kuleba expressed his gratitude to the Korean government for its solidarity and support, and the two sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation once the current crisis ends and the situation in Ukraine stabilizes.
