1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon and Ambassador of Bulgaria to Korea Petko Draganov signed the Arrangement on Cooperation in the Fields of Education and Culture between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

o The Arrangement is founded on the Agreement for Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria, concluded in 1994 to facilitate bilateral cooperation in education, culture, art and broadcasting. It had been implemented as the Programme for Cooperation in the Fields of Education and Culture between the two countries until the two countries agreed to turn it into a legally binding arrangement in 2013.

2. The Arrangement is expected to contribute to enhancing people-to-people exchanges and bilateral cooperation in the fields of education and culture, including the scholarship program between the two countries.
