1. On March 22, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun spoke over the phone with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Bagheri Kani, and had an exchange of views on a wide range of issues between the two countries.

2. Vice Minister Choi wished Iran and its people a meaningful and successful year on the occasion of Nowruz, Iran’s biggest holiday, and expressed his expectations for the early conclusion of negotiations on reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in which progress has been made recently.

ㅇ Emphasizing the importance of the ROK-Iran relations, Vice Minister Choi said that Korea would continue to play its role in the conclusion and implementation of the negotiations on the JCPOA.

3. Commending the fact that the ROK-Iran working-level talks were held in February following their meeting in Vienna in January, Vice Minister Bagheri hoped that such efforts would achieve concrete results and substantially improve the bilateral relations.

4. Vice Minister Choi stressed that joint efforts between the two countries are required to deepen the bilateral relations and the two sides agreed to further strengthen their friendly and cooperative relations, with this year marking the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of the ROK-Iran diplomatic relations.
