The Korean government takes note of the Saudi government’s announcement that on December 24, 2021, the Houthi rebels in Yemen launched an attack on a civilian residential area in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, leaving a number of people dead or injured. The Korean government strongly condemns the attack that threatened lives and safety of civilians.

2. The Korean government reaffirms its position that it supports the efforts of the United Nations and the countries concerned to put an end to the civil war and establish peace in Yemen, and calls on the Houthis to cease attacks on Saudi Arabia and engage in negotiations under UN auspices.
