1. The government of the Republic of Korea expresses deep concern and regret over the fact that responsible leaders of Japan visited the Yasukuni Shrine which glorifies Japan’s history of colonial rule and war of aggression, only weeks after the formation of Japan’s new parliament.

2. The ROK government once again sternly points out that, only when the leaders of Japan face history squarely and demonstrate through action their humble reflection and sincere remorse for Japan’s past history, will Japan earn trust from the international community.
