Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with “Comfort Women” Victims

1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun, during his visit to “comfort women” victims in Daegu and Pohang on November 29 to 30, asked after their health, and listened to their views on the “comfort women” issue.


2. Furthermore, Vice Minister Choi visited the Museum of “Comfort Women” Victims in Daegu (“Hui-um” Museum). After viewing the exhibition, Vice Minister Choi had a meeting with the representatives of the organizations that support the victims, introduced the Korean government’s efforts regarding the “comfort women” issue and heard their opinions on how to resolve the issue. 


° Vice Minister Choi reaffirmed the commitment to continue to closely communicate with the victims and relevant organizations in the process of seeking to restore the honor and dignity of the victims and heal their wounds.


3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will indeed continue in its victim-centered endeavors, in close communication with the victims and supporting organizations, for measures to resolve the issue.
