1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun met with new Ambassador of Qatar to Korea Khalid Al-Hamar on October 28.

2. Vice Minister Choi said that he expects Ambassador Al-Hamar, who had contributed to advancing bilateral relations while serving as Director of Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar for 7 years, to make further contributions as Ambassador to Korea.

∘ Ambassador Al-Hamar promised that as Ambassador to Korea, he will work hard to realize his ideas to enhance bilateral relations such as expanding trade and investment.

3. Vice Minister Choi showed his high expectations regarding the upcoming visit of Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi to Korea and the First Korea-Qatar High Level Policy Consultation Meeting to be held on November 3.

∘ Ambassador Al-Hamar said that State Minister Al-Muraikhi is also looking forward to his visit to Korea, and proposed to take this opportunity to further improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
