1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong spoke with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the phone on October 16, following his courtesy call on Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and meeting with Foreign Minister Abdullah on October 10 in the UAE. The two Ministers agreed as follows:

ㅇ The Korean government will support the UAE’s bid to host the UNFCCC COP28 in 2023, and the UAE government will back Korea’s bid for COP33 in 2028.

ㅇ The UAE welcomed Korea's efforts for Busan to be selected as the host of the 2030 World Expo, and the two countries will continue to discuss this issue.

ㅇ The two countries will further expand and develop cooperation in various fields on the basis of their Special Strategic Partnership.
