1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon will visit Qatar and Oman, Korea’s major partners in the Middle East, from September 13 to 16.

2. Vice Minister Choi will discuss with high-level officials of the two countries ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, regional affairs and cooperation on the international stage.

o During his visit to Qatar, Vice Minister Choi will extend his appreciation for Qatar’s cooperation regarding the current situation in Afghanistan and explore ways for cooperation on the issue.

3. Vice Minister Choi’s visit to the two countries is expected to broaden the areas of Korea’s bilateral cooperation with Qatar, playing an active role concerning the situation in Afghanistan, and with Oman, providing ongoing support for Korea’s Cheonghae Unit.
