Fernandez for the first time on September 8, to ensure continued progress for the implementation of outcomes agreed at the Moon-Biden Summit held in May 2021.
o Vice Minister Choi highlighted the significant role of the Korean chip and battery makers for the resilience of global supply chain, asking for support from the U.S. government.
o Under Secretary of State Fernandez, emphasizing bilateral cooperation with the ROK, a linchpin of security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, expressed his commitment to expanding the ROK-U.S. cooperation in the areas of supply chain and infrastructure development in response to the evolving global landscape.
2. Additionally, Vice Minister Choi and Under Secretary of State Fernandez tentatively agreed to hold the Senior Economic Dialogue (SED) in Korea in November in order to reinforce and facilitate the implementation of the outcomes of the ROK-U.S. Summit.
