Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun Meets with Colombian Ambassador to Korea

1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun met with Colombian Ambassador to Korea Juan Caiza on September 3, and they engaged in an exchange of views on the outcomes of the recent state visit to Korea by Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez and the follow-up measures to the Korea-Colombia summit.

 

2. Vice Minister Choi noted with appreciation that with this year marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries and with next year marking 60 years of the diplomatic ties, the Colombian President’s visit served as a valuable opportunity to further develop the comprehensive and future-oriented bilateral relations. In this regard, he suggested that the two governments sincerely implement follow-up measures to the summit for the further deepening of the ties of cooperation.

 

3. Ambassador Caiza noted with satisfaction that President Duque’s visit to Korea represented a milestone for strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in the fields of healthcare, trade and investment and digital transformation, and expressed the intention to engage in continued efforts to ensure that the outcomes of the visit to Korea lead to further development of the bilateral relations.
