P4G Summit “Inclusive Green Partnership” Forum to Take Place to Discuss Ways to Develop Public-Private Partnerships

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is planning to host a Pre-P4G Summit Event under the theme of “Inclusive Green Partnership” on the afternoon of May 10 (Mon.) at the Plaza Hotel Seoul.


2. Climate and environment experts will discuss ways to develop “inclusive green public-private partnerships” which is the main theme of the 2021 P4G Seoul Summit, and introduce the five public-private partnerships pursued by Korean organizations that were selected as P4G partners. 


* Food and Agriculture: Agroforestry for People, Peace and Prosperity/ Water: Intelligent Water Leakage Management / Energy: ①Solar Cow 4 Impact ②Getting to Zero Coalition/ Cities: IoT 4 Mekong Delta, Vietnam 


- The event will begin with opening remarks by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jongmoon, followed by congratulatory remarks by Chair of the IPCC Lee Hoe-sung. Keynote speeches will be presented by Ambassador for Climate Change and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoo Yeon-chul and Global Director of the P4G Hub Ian de Cruz.


- In addition, GGGI (Global Green Growth Institute), the GCF (Green Climate Fund), KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), ASEIC (ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center), and the GTC (Green Technology Center) will each share their experiences of engaging in inclusive green public-private partnerships. Lastly, the P4G Hub will introduce the application procedures for the 2021 P4G Call for Partnerships.


3. In consideration of COVID-19, the event will proceed without on-site participants. Participants at home and abroad can take part in real time through the official 2021 P4G Seoul Summit YouTube channel. 


The event is going to be in English, and simultaneous interpretation into Korean will be provided on the ASEIC YouTube channel. 


4. Starting with this Pre-Summit Event, the Korean government, having designated May 24-29 as the “Green Future Week," will host multiple sessions under various themes for the success of the Summit which will be held in 20 some days.
