1. The Korean government is deeply shocked over the loss of many innocent civilian lives at the hands of the military and police forces of Myanmar on 27 March, the Myanmar Armed Forces Day, and strongly condemns the continuing brutal violence despite repeated calls from the international community.

2. The Korean government hopes that the Myanmar military will realize its inherent duty, and once again strongly calls for an immediate end to unacceptable acts of violence against its own people.

3. The Korean government respects the Myanmar people’s aspiration for democracy, and will continue to do its part as a responsible member of the international community in order to contribute to the resolution of current situation in Myanmar while closely coordinating with the international community.
