1. Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun will attend the “Meeting of Heads of State and Government on Financing for Development in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond” to be held on September 29 on the occasion of the 75^th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and deliver an address on Korea’s activities and contributions for a sustainable recovery.

o The meeting of heads of state and government to be co-convened by the UN Secretary-General, the Prime Minister of Canada, and the Prime Minister of Jamaica will address ways to secure financing to help developing countries implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the era of COVID-19.

o As the ROK government’s measures to contribute to the international community’s sustainable recovery, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun will explain Korea’s endeavour in transitioning to a digital green economy and strengthening the social safety net through the Korean New Deal; expanding ODA and sharing Korea’s response to COVID-19; faithfully implementing the Paris Agreement through revision of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC); and participating in the G20/Paris Club’s Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI).

2. The ROK government will continue to actively support developing countries’ efforts to respond to COVID-19 and participate in international discussions for the global community’s sustainable recovery.
