1. The government of the Republic of Korea expresses deep disappointment and concern over the fact that leaders of the government and the National Diet of Japan have once again sent offerings to and paid respects at the Yasukuni Shrine, which glorifies Japan’s history of war of aggression and enshrines war criminals.

2. The ROK government sternly points out that only when responsible leaders of Japan face history squarely and demonstrate their humble reflection and sincere remorse for Japan’s past history through practical action, can Japan build future-oriented ROK-Japan relations and win trust from its neighboring countries as well as the international community.
