1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone consultation with Mr. Stephen Biegun, Deputy Secretary of State and Special Representative for North Korea of the United States, on the morning of April 28 (Korea Standard Time).

o The two sides shared their assessments of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, and exchanged views on ways for the two countries to cooperate to make substantive progress in achieving complete denuclearization and establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

2. The Republic of Korea and the U.S. noted with appreciation the bilateral communication and consultations on North Korea issues that have been continuing at various levels, and agreed to continue close cooperation.
