1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha spoke over the phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Tulea on the afternoon of April 7 at the latter’s request. In the phone conversation, they shared their respective countries’ efforts and experiences in responding to COVID-19, and discussed ways for the two countries to work together.
o Minister Kang stressed that although the COVID-19 situation in the Republic of Korea is improving recently, the ROK government remains vigilant in its fight against COVID-19.
2. Minister Tulea highly commended the ROK for effectively responding to COVID-19. In addition, he expressed concern over the recent spread of COVID-19 in Moldova, and asked the ROK to share its successful experiences in disease control efforts and to cooperate in Moldova’s introduction of protective equipment.
o Minister Kang said that the ROK government will continue to share its experiences in COVID-19 response with Moldova and also look into the introduction of protective equipment as conditions in the ROK allow.
3. In
the phone conversation, the two Ministers agreed on the importance of
cooperation between the two countries in tackling COVID-19, and agreed to
continue close communication.
